A speedy, sparkly birthday card....

I needed to do a quick card for an overseas friend so decided to play along with the Speed Craft girls!
This card took me 14 mins and 39 seconds (cutting it fine!) - although I confess the stickles was not dry in that time. The theme is sparkle and shine - not excessive on mine but some stickles and lovely rhinestones.

The inspiration for this card came from another Stampin Up demo - sorry I saw the card but don't know who made it! I have used different stamps and a different layout but some of the elements and the colour scheme are cased.

I had such fun I made another one:

Halloween Die Cuts for Speedcraft!

It's another Speed craft day - to see what you can create in ten minutes. Donna chose the theme this time of Halloween. I don't have any Halloween stamps so used some die cuts someone had kindly done for me. This one was really quick as the dies were already cut!

I took the 'boo' and sprayed with black soot distress spray. While drying I die cut the 2 circles and my card base and matt layer. I finished off my card with some cosmic shimmer glue dots and the die cut bat.

Distress Sprays for Speed Craft Challenge and a little exercise

It is time for the fourth Speed Craft Challenge!

The idea is simple - do anything around the theme in just ten minutes. It doesn't lead to our most thought out projects and certainly mistakes happen (see below!) but it is fun to see what can be done in a short time and I find it great to let go of having to be a perfectionist as I am up against the clock.

I chose the theme this time - Ink sprays or spritzers - and decided to try out Distress Sprays. I took a tag and added some tissue tape before stamping umbrella man in archival. I then ran downstairs to the garage to my sophisticated spray booth (ie a pizza box on a table covered in newspaper). I spritzed my tag in yellow then ran up the stairs to blast it with my heat too. Back to the garage and I had some circle shapes lying around and placed these randomly over my tag before adding some blue distress spray. Back upstairs and another blast (they dry very quickly on manilla tags - good job).

(Meanwhile the cat is looking a little bemused at my frantic stair climbing activity)

Took a baby wipe and wiped ink from the tissue taped area and quickly stamped my words and embossed (dreadful idea - some ink still damp so embossing powder not just on the versamark stamped words!)
mmmm 3 minutes left and it needed more. Some pre cut grunge board arrows were on my desk and madly I decided to emboss in gold powder. I did manage to do this before my alarm went off but also managed to frazzle my fingers a little bit and create a mess.

Ok, I confess I had to add the arrows and the seam binding after the ten minutes. Not sure I really like my tag, but it was fun and good exercise!!

Do play along and see what you can do in ten minutes.....

Seconds out, round 2.....

.....of the Speed Craft Challenge where we have just ten minutes to see what we can make. Now this may be a bit of a cheat this time round as I had been making a lot of Christmas cards for another project and had lots of scraps and bits left out on my desk!
Ingrid challenged us to use turquoise and I was unsure I had anything and then realised Stampin Up Lost lagoon ink and paper would fit the bill..... so my products are all SU except my Tim Holtz stars stencil.

The card is A7 - I didn't get to mount it in the 10 mins (did that later!) - but managed to emboss, stencil, stamp, ink, punch, cut and stick.

Why not visit the other mad Speed Crafters - what is great about this group is we are all quite different in style!

Speed Craft Challenge

Morning everyone and welcome to the first Speed Craft Challenge! Ingrid came up with this idea to see what we could make in 10 minutes - just 10!! Eeeek.
The rules were to craft for only 10 mins, although you could get your supplies ready in advance. I chose my favourite Stampin Up stamp sets:

I got my supplies together:
Set the timer on my phone and started to make a mess! I came up with my grungy card and even had time to mount it. Total time - 9 mins 48 seconds! Now of course if I were to make this again I would be a bit a more precise and considered - but great fun seeing what 10 minutes brings!

Do hop over to the other Speed Crafters this morning to see what they have created in 10 minutes!
