 My Tim tag for December - quite of bit of tweaking from Tim's version due to lack of certain supplies - but that is half the fun!

Really loved his tag this month and quite like mine although not sure the acetate on top of the pale background really works in photos!

October Tim Tag - Christmas version and the series

Here is my third version of Tim Holtz October tag and the series of three! The final one is a Christmas version and my favourite. I used Tim's techniques but added the new stacked snowflakes as my focal point. I cut them from chipboard and treated with some distress stains and paints before adding a sprinkle of glitter.

 

 

I hope you like my series of tags - great to use Tim's techniques and formats but change it a bit!

12 Tags of 2014 - October - Halloween Version

Version 2 of my Tim tags for October and this time I followed his theme of Halloween. A lot of improvisation as I don't have the stamps he used. My pumpkin is a die cut with some additional hand drawing and lots of ink and crackles. My spider is also a die cut - I stamped him with a crack stamp and heat embossed before adding glossy accents.

October Tim Tag - Version 1 - Fall

It is Tim tag time! I love Tim's tag this month but don't have all the relevant stamps. So I decided to follow the techniques and do a few versions. If I get round to finishing them I will post next week. Here is Tim's version:

So this mine is the Fall version - so I would also like to share at Frilly and Funkie - where the theme is Autumn Colours. 

My tag includes texture paste and distress sprays as Tim's, but without the stamped and masked spider first. To add some contrast and balance I added some remnant rubs.

 I decided my focal point would be some autumn leaves all painted and crackled until I was happy with them. Two pictures below, one in sunlight, one not:

I love the idea of remnant rubs on the monocle - I added autumn toned DP's to mine.

Weather not great here today so struggled to get good photos again - the sun is low it casts horrible shadows and out of the sun it isnt really bright enough!

September Tim Tag - Missing You....

Just managed to get my September tag done - thought I might have to miss this one. Tim's instructions are here - I struggled a little! Problem 1 - don't have many alcohol inks and those I have are bright! Problem 2 - it's not that easy. So I improvised a little - and having followed Tim's directions to start with, I then removed some of the ink back through the stencil with blending solution. You can see the stencilled hearts if you look closely. Pretty much followed the rest albeit with different stamps, text, embellishments and theme.

My tag is for George Clooney - how dare he go and get married!

August Tim Tag

This one was a challenge but here is my attempt. I followed Tim's version as best I could although didn't have everything he used. I didn't manage to get the intensity of colour with my distress stains and the big mistake was my stamped image choice - should really have been something with more solid black rather than just lines!

Love all the techniques though and the super grungy effects.

Sunshine and Showers

It's time for Tim's Tag for July. Unfortunately I don't have the dies he used so a little improvisation was needed. I did create a little story around this but it sounds silly now! To summarise; umbrella man (in his wellies) goes for a walk (with is good friend the blue tit) in the sunshine and showers.

June Tim Tag

Here is my version of Tim's June tag. I created the background in the same way but used the Papillon butterflies and word press word as I didn;t have the stamps he used! I had recently started a tag with texture pasted stars and metallic distress paints so decided to use this as my base and added a few crackle painted stars as embellishments too.
