Pattern Play Birthday cards

Birthday cards with PaperArtsy Chalk paints and Tracy Scott TS059 stamp set. Pattern Play

Hello again - it is my final week as guest on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog. This weeks theme is Red, White and Blue. I have created some small birthday cards featuring another Tracy Scott / PaperArtsy stamp set - TS059

I used PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics - Cherry Red, Midnight and Heavy Cream for my backgrounds and the base for my embossed hexagons.

I began with my gel plate adding one colour, stamping on the plate to remove paint or add it. For some I stamped the image directly onto the plate first - with paint - letting it dry before brayering paint over the top. I build my layered, organic prints like this.

Once I had a few backgrounds I cut them to size and created the patterned layers with archival ink. (Tracy Scott uses her geometric stamps to create 'Pattern Play')

With the remainer of the background, I stamped hexagons with versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Thanks to the Simon Says Stamp team for inviting me to join them for June! Do, as always, check out the designs of the their design team - they are fabulously creative!

Vellum Flower Journal Page

Journal Page featuring PaperArtsy Paint, Stamps and Stencils. TS058 TS055 EAB21

Hi everyone. It's week 3 of my little adventure over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog. This week the theme is 'We Can See Clearly'. I have used some of the newly released stamps and stencils from PaperArtsy by Tracy Scott (TS058 and TS055) and Alison Bomber (EAB21) to create this colourful journal page with Vellum flowers.

For my background I used lots of PaperArtsy Fresco Chalk Acrylics - I used Slimed, Cerulean, Banana, Byzantium, Azure, Cerise, Chalk and Little Black Dress. I painted in colour 'patches' before adding additional stenciling and stamping to the background. (Stencils used PS224, PS242 and PS234.

I added a frame to feature my flowers and quote. The flowers are stamped on vellum with versamark and heat embossed in white.

If you play along with this week's challenge at Simon Says stamp - you could win a $25 gift card to spend in store.

Blooming Triangles

Art Journal pages using PaperArtsy / Tracy Scott stamps and Fresco Chalk Acrylics

Hi everyone. I am back again this week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog. This week the theme is Beautiful Blooms and I decided to create a journal page using a Stamp Set TS054 by Tracy Scott / PaperArtsy.  This set is made up of lots of patterned triangles - which I have used to create my large flower.

I also used PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics - I love these as they dry very quickly and come in a fabulous range of colours! I mostly used 3 colours here:

I sponged my background before adding some interest through stencils and some stamping. I used Tracy Scott stencils - PS224 and PS242 and a further stamp set TS055.

I stamped the triangle several times on different coloured backgrounds and cut them out, layering up my 'bloom'. Finished off with some pen work using Posca and Sigma pens.

Skype Craft - Ken's Houses

Hello! It seems like a while since I have posted on here. I have been doing some online classes during the lockdown period but either haven't got round to taking photos to share or haven't finished them!!! Still crafting just not finding the motivation to blog.

However a week or so ago I had another Skype Craft session with Alison Bomber and Brenda Brown - actually it was across 2 sessions as we chatted so much we didn't finish the first time (and we had to allow Alison's crackle to crackle!)
Brenda's lovely husband Ken has been busy and cut us all some wooden houses - so we all worked on the same substrate.

I painted my houses with Summer Sky Fresco paint and then randomly coloured on Tim Holtz printed tissue paper (on the back). Having added this to the substrate I added some book page scraps, some drips and some leftover stamped card. I also added some extra paint highlights to help with the colour composition.

I stamped a quote (an old Tim Holtz stamp set) on some painted card and found some leaf and butterfly embellishments that I painted and stamped on.

The sides - that you cant see too well are also stamped.

Pleased with these - so much so I have them in my living room - to remind me to challenge myself occasionally!

My lovely friends have both excelled themselves with their designs.....you can find all the details on their blogs.
