Crazy Cat Upright for That's Crafty!

I am very happy to be joining the That's Crafty! Design Team today and it is time for a new challenge on their Challenge blog. The theme is Friday 13th Part 2.

I decided to use one of the fabulous dinky mdf uprights  to create my slightly scary creation. I used Dylusions paints to create by yellow / red background and then black gesso around the edges. My crazy cat has been stamped in versamark and embossed with a yellow powder and then sprayed with black soot distress spray. I added a little sparkly mod podge which the camera hasn't liked too much!

Back tomorrow with another spooky creation and Monday for my final project in the Designer Spotlight at Simon Says Stamp.
Life has got a little busy here of late so sorry for my lack of visits - I may be a little quieter in blogland for a short while.

Crazy Cats .... on the beach

Crazy Cats on the beach - Addicted to Art
I have been meaning to do this since the cats came out! Some of you might remember my Crazy Birds on Vacation from last year - so it only seemed fair to let the cats have some summer fun too! The challenge today at Country View Crafts is Hot Summer Days - so my cats seemed to fit the bill!

This time I decided to let them celebrate summer and dress them a little and having done the boys in their trunks I had to do the girls too!

The backgrounds were done with marbled distress paints - I added a little stencilling to the boys but it is hardly visible. I stamped the cats - sketched the 'costumes' and sunglasses and then used my waterbrush, distress inks and black and white marker pens.

I hope they have put a smile on your face!

The cats would like to play along at:

Industrial Crazy Cat cards

We have a new challenge at Country View Crafts for March, chosen by Debs - Industrial. When I created my Tim tag for January I wondered if the idea would work on a card too - so here we are! So it is fair to say it was inspired by Tim and then by me - follow the links if you missed them. Very short of photos today but here is how it started:
Foil on card, emboss, add paint, let dry or wipe when nearly dry, sand a little!
My cat is stamped in versamark and embossed with clear powder before covering in black ink. The rest is just inked and torn layers.
Here is number two!
Not quite sure who is receiving these yet, although I do have one person in mind - but they were fun to make. I would like to enter:
Frilly and Funkie - Layer it Up
Be back later in the week with a new challenge at A Vintage Journey and another Industrial project for Country View Crafts.

Crazy Cat Time

Crazy Cats - Addicted to Art
Hello everyone, just stopping by to share my first Crazy Cat creation. I fear I may be using these creatures quite a bit!
I thought I would join in at Simon Says Stamp (Monday challenge) where the theme is Ray of Sunshine and over at Frilly and Funkie we are embossing.
I inked mustard seed ink through the rays stencil, then stamped my greeting and cat in archival black. I then replaced the stencil and added versamark over the yellow before embossing with clear powder. This then allowed me to colour the rest of the card with scattered straw and fired brick inks.
I used oval dies to create my cuts in the border before mounting on the blue embossed layer.
I stamped and cut another crazy bird and used my water brush to colour before edging with a darker blue ink.
