All good things come to a (spooky) end......

Today I say goodbye to the Country View Crafts design team! I have been on the team for 2 years which has been fabulous. They must be bored of me by now so time to move on!

My final creation is for the current Spooky theme - I have used Tim Holtz blueprint stamps, layering the skull to create dimension. My background in embossed and sanded kraft core card.
Thanks for stopping by - see you soon.

Crazy Cat Upright for That's Crafty!

I am very happy to be joining the That's Crafty! Design Team today and it is time for a new challenge on their Challenge blog. The theme is Friday 13th Part 2.

I decided to use one of the fabulous dinky mdf uprights  to create my slightly scary creation. I used Dylusions paints to create by yellow / red background and then black gesso around the edges. My crazy cat has been stamped in versamark and embossed with a yellow powder and then sprayed with black soot distress spray. I added a little sparkly mod podge which the camera hasn't liked too much!

Back tomorrow with another spooky creation and Monday for my final project in the Designer Spotlight at Simon Says Stamp.
Life has got a little busy here of late so sorry for my lack of visits - I may be a little quieter in blogland for a short while.

Spooky?

Tim Holtz Halloween Blueprint and Wilted Violet Distress Ink Card
Hello again. Halloween month so our new theme at Country View Crafts is Spooky. Now I confess this is a theme I struggle with a bit but I did have fun making a couple of cards.
This card was my first outing for Wilted Violet DI! Yes I know I am about a year late - but only a recent addition to my stash and I love it!
My background uses Tim's shattered layering stencil and the image is from one of the Halloween blueprint stamp sets. I stamped and cut out the spiders body and added glossy accents for added spookiness!
I am back on Monday with another Halloween creation ..... a little different to this though!

Halloween Die Cuts for Speedcraft!

It's another Speed craft day - to see what you can create in ten minutes. Donna chose the theme this time of Halloween. I don't have any Halloween stamps so used some die cuts someone had kindly done for me. This one was really quick as the dies were already cut!

I took the 'boo' and sprayed with black soot distress spray. While drying I die cut the 2 circles and my card base and matt layer. I finished off my card with some cosmic shimmer glue dots and the die cut bat.

12 Tags of 2014 - October - Halloween Version

Version 2 of my Tim tags for October and this time I followed his theme of Halloween. A lot of improvisation as I don't have the stamps he used. My pumpkin is a die cut with some additional hand drawing and lots of ink and crackles. My spider is also a die cut - I stamped him with a crack stamp and heat embossed before adding glossy accents.

Hope you are all having a good day and thanks for stopping by.

Halloween To Die For

It's a fabulous Halloween theme starting today at A Vintage Journey - this time the choice of Anne (I haven't met Anne but she seems to be a dear, kind lady and of course a superb crafter.)

I decided on a simple, little triptych with lots of embossing and die cuts. I used orange card and highlighted the embossed areas with black soot DI and the black card was highlighted with an orange archival ink - I love this effect

Here are a few more piccies of each panel:

All finished off with some died cheesecloth.

Do pay a visit to A Vintage Journey where you can be guaranteed some fabulously spooky inspiration from the team.

I would like to add my latest Halloween creation into the following challenges:

Happy Friday everyone and thanks for visiting.

Spooky Tuesday

A spooky card for the spooky challenge at Try it on Tuesday starting today. I had a piece of card I had used to mop up my craft mat with various neutral tones on it. I embossed it and then highlighted with black soot DI.
My background layer is stamped with cracks and again edged with black soot DI. Halloween die cuts added and all mounted on black card.

I would like to spook the following challenges:
Crafthoarders Anonymous - Happy Fall (or Halloween)
Simply Create too - Halloween or Orange

Trick or Treat

A little Halloween make today - my first! Never really been one for Halloween but the event is quite significant in me starting crafting a year ago. (Popped to a friend to borrow a costume for a Halloween party and saw her craft room and the rest is history!).

Lucky enough to be at a crop a few weeks ago and used the organisers fabulous range of Sissix dies and texture fades for a few Halloween makes... (sorry not sure of their names)
