"Numbers is our challenge theme for this month and we would like to see them being a focal point in your entries. You can use stencils, die cuts, fussy cuts or rub ons, rust them up, use texture paste or paint them, the decision is yours as long as the numbers are prominent. Just remember to create your project in one of our preferred styles: vintage, shabby, mixed media, art journaling, industrial, timeworn or steampunk."
I decided to a create journal page with lots of numbers. My background was fun - a combination of collage, stamping, stencils, washi, paint etc.
I die cut some flowers in black card and added numbers to these too before dry brushing over the surface as the black was a bit - black! I wanted the quote and clock to have a little more prominence!Nikki
Great page! Love the collaging in the b/g and the fact you can see all of it. The black flowers with the numbers are the perfect focal point. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Nikki x This is a fabulous page and I love the wonderful layers you have created. The colours are stunning and dry brushing the flowers looks amazing. The clock and quote are the perfect addition.
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like your mojo is returning xx Have a lovely weekend xx
Take care and keep safe

I think it looks amazing - there's real depth and drama. I always fight shy of black (finding the India Ink a bit much in my Inktober journey already - I'm heading for lighter possibilities!) - but when I see it in other people's work I can see what strength and power and atmosphere it brings. Incredible layers and yet the flowers and the quote still pop. I'm so relieved to find that my mojo hasn't died altogether... I'm sure yours will bob up again just when you least expect as mine did.

Take care and huge hugs

Fabulous journal page Nikki, love all the layers and the depth you have managed to create. Some of my favourite techniques really come to life on this page. And as far as mojo is concerned, join the club lol, - the new blogger certainly does not help either...
ReplyDeleteSaw this at AVJ and had to come tell you how stunning that background is and how worth the effort. Amazing, XXO
