I recently purchased some Dylusions paints - a new toy to play with! I watched a couple of Dina Wakely videos too - I know, a bit illogical - should have used her paints!
I love her artistic way of using paints to create a background and so gave it a go. I added lots of water to the paint and after the initial (fairly random) placing of the paint on the card - let the water do the work and left it alone (a hard thing for me!). There were a couple of yuk's but I quite liked this one.
I added some complimentary coloured stencilling and stamping.
This is my latest creation for Country View Crafts 'Travel' themed challenge.

Wow Nikki, you picked up some great tips from Dina because you have made Dyan's paints (I thought they were really bright!) look beautiful and subtle, wonderfully blended. Love the design too - beautiful work! Anne xx
ReplyDeleteLove the results of 'leaving it alone' (had to smile at that one), the colour blends and layers are fabulous. Thanks for sharing a great day out yesterday xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Nikki! Love the color stamping. And I know what you mean - for me it is hard too to leave work alone, always would want to "help" the colors ;-)

Love the color wash effect and the gorgeous colored stenciling and stamping! I've not gotten any of Dyan's paints yet, but now I've got to add them to my growing list! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOoh I love the dreamy colours, they have worked out really well together!
