The beginning of December and time for a new challenge over at the Country View Craft challenge blog. Our theme is chosen by Astrid and it couldn't be better - Nostalgic Christmas!
My first project is this tag featuring the wonderful bigz tattered poinsettia die and stamps from Tim Holtz's Deco Christmas set.
I started by stamping my images on a manilla tag, not my usual start point but I was visiting a friend and quickly borrowed her stamps! So I created the background later at home. I took Iced spruce and evergreen bough distress stains and splodged them on my craft mat with a little water and swooshed my tag through them. Once dry I added another layer of iced spruce and brushed pewter.
Once dry I took my stars stencil and added versamark in areas and then white puff embossing powder.
I distressed the edges of my tag and added forest moss distress ink around the edges and a little black soot - I like how this frames the tag.
Having cut my poinsettia and some foliage from the tattered pinecone die I coloured them with distress inks.
A remnant rub sentiment and some ribbon completed my tag.
Thanks for looking in today, I hope you like my tag.
