Sideshow journal page

Tim Holtz Sideshow and Globe Die Journal Page
Hello! I am back for week two of being guest designer at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge . This week the challenge theme is 'Explore the World'.

I decided to combine Tim Holtz globe die and Sideshow stamp set on this journal page.

First I made a background in my journal - some tissue paper and gesso followed by yellow and green paint with my fingers and a babywipe. (Dylusions paints)
Next I took a die cut of the globe and used it as a mask in three places - leaving behind the green / yellows of the globe.
I added some stencilling and stamping to the background before adding some tissue tape and cut out Sideshow characters.

Bright and Scary? Guest design for Simon Says Stamp

Halloween Andy Skinner Day of the Dead
Hello! I am very honoured to be guest designer at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge for the month of October! Today is my first creation with the theme of Halloween.

I decided to use Andy Skinner's 'Day of the Dead' stencil on my canvas with Dylusion's paints in Postbox Red and Lemon Zest. I began with a mix of the two to create an orange base coat. I then took my stencil and used Black soot distress paint. I also stencilled the skull onto white card and cut it out to create a mask.
Using the mask to cover the skulls I applied Postbox Red through Tim Holtz layering stencil (Shattered) to create cobwebs around the skulls.
Once dry I added a little Lemon Zest around the edges to create a halo effect.
Finally I dripped red paint onto the edges of the canvas and drew and painted a couple of bats in the corners.
A big thanks to Lols for the invitation to join the Simon Says Stamp team this month - I will be back with my second creation next week.

Spooky?

Tim Holtz Halloween Blueprint and Wilted Violet Distress Ink Card
Hello again. Halloween month so our new theme at Country View Crafts is Spooky. Now I confess this is a theme I struggle with a bit but I did have fun making a couple of cards.
This card was my first outing for Wilted Violet DI! Yes I know I am about a year late - but only a recent addition to my stash and I love it!
My background uses Tim's shattered layering stencil and the image is from one of the Halloween blueprint stamp sets. I stamped and cut out the spiders body and added glossy accents for added spookiness!
I am back on Monday with another Halloween creation ..... a little different to this though!

Wildflower Tag Friday

 Tim Holtz Wildflower Tag
It has been a busy old month here at Addicted to Art - lots of projects and posts (for me anyway!). As the month draws to a close it is Tag Friday at A Vintage Journey.
My tag began with a bit of PaperArtsy Chalk paint that was left on my craft mat - which I painted in patches on the tag and let dry. I then added some distress stains and a little water.
Love the effect this gives!
Next I did some random stenciling and stamping to add extra depth and interest to the background. I also had some Wildflower die cuts on the desk so added some distress paints and as I wanted them to be quite solid added some gel paste.
I later added a little more colour when they were dry. To make them pop a little more on the similar toned tag I tore some book pages - added a little white paint and some distress ink. Some dyed white string and a hashtag saying completed my tag.
If you have time pay a visit to A Vintage Journey today for lots more Tag inspiration.
