First of February - how did that happen! Anyway time for a new challenge over at Country View Crafts and the theme is Drips and Drops. Lots of inspiration from the team so do hop over and pay a visiit.
For this card I have used three different, if quite subtle ways, of including the theme.
1. Spritz and flick - having inked my card with distress inks I flicked some water to allow the inks to react creating a bleaching effect.
2. I added ink back back using my splatter stamp to add the effect of droplets.
3. I created little water droplets made from glossy accents and a little rock candy distress glitter.
I do love the softness of the colours I have used on this - I used Aged Mahogany (subtly!), Peeled Paint and Mustard seed.
Now I don't want any sympathy but it is a Valentines card and I have no valentine (or 13 days to find one LOL!) - do you think this would work as a Mother's Day card? - it seems a shame not to use it!
I would like to enter the following challenges:

Nikki, I just had a quick look coming from Country View Challenges, and I just had to tell you that this is my all time favorite artwork you have created since I've been stalking, um, I mean following! Love the colors!!!! The spritz and flick, my favorite technique is executed to perfection here, as is the splatter (my new favorite!--you'll see why soon--everything is splattered including all my clothing!). And those "drops" of Glossy Accents and Glitter are genius and BEAUTIFUL! Just a great card, Nikki! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHello Nikki,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, just a gorgeous card, it has a quiet feminine quality about it and it will make a perfect MDC.
You will inspire many to drip and drop in subtle ways, so thank you for showing everyone a different way and how this technique can enhance a design beautifully. Great inspiration, thank you.
Smiles:)
