Getting bright!

There is a new challenge over at That's Crafty today and the theme is to go Bright! So bright I did. Actually this is one of my Hochanda samples using the white/greyboard journal pages from That's Crafty. 

I blended lots of Distress inks over the surface and then used chalk paint to stencil the dragonflies, butterflies and harlequins (That's Crafty Dinky Stencils). The words are from the That's Crafty Word stencils and again I used chalk paints.

Relics & Artifacts / That's Crafty Collaberation

This week we have a collaberation between the Relics & Artifacts and That's Crafty! teams. We are each sharing a project featuring products from both camps. Today is my turn from the That's Crafty team and it is Lynne's over at R&A.

Splat!

Outnumbered

Today sees the start of  new challenge at That's Crafty - the theme is Outnumbered. Numbers must form and significant part of your project. I used numbers stamps, stencils and remnant rubs on this card. I think I went too far - it looks a little strange!

A trio of butterflies

Today we see the start of a new challenge at A Vintage Journey - hosted this month by Annie. The theme is The Magic of Three.

I decided to work on a large MDF tag. This project developed as it went along really although I had seen an image recently on Pinterest - by Zoe Hillman that was influential in the design! 

I started by painting the tag with gesso and then smooshing it around in a mixture of brown distress paints. Once dry I added crackle texture paste through Tim Holtz latticework stencil. Again once dry I added more paint - browns again and cracked pistachio - sometimes off my craft mat and sometimes with my finger.

I die cut three greyboard circles, some wildflowers and mini detailed butteflies and sponged with the same brown and pistachio colours.

Finally I added one of Tim Holtz's new Metallic Quotation stickers.
