Wildflower Tag Friday

 Tim Holtz Wildflower Tag
It has been a busy old month here at Addicted to Art - lots of projects and posts (for me anyway!). As the month draws to a close it is Tag Friday at A Vintage Journey.
My tag began with a bit of PaperArtsy Chalk paint that was left on my craft mat - which I painted in patches on the tag and let dry. I then added some distress stains and a little water.
Love the effect this gives!
Next I did some random stenciling and stamping to add extra depth and interest to the background. I also had some Wildflower die cuts on the desk so added some distress paints and as I wanted them to be quite solid added some gel paste.
I later added a little more colour when they were dry. To make them pop a little more on the similar toned tag I tore some book pages - added a little white paint and some distress ink. Some dyed white string and a hashtag saying completed my tag.
If you have time pay a visit to A Vintage Journey today for lots more Tag inspiration.

Playing with Dylusions paints

A2A - Dylusions Paints, Sideshow Tim Holtz
I recently purchased some Dylusions paints - a new toy to play with! I watched a couple of Dina Wakely videos too - I know, a bit illogical - should have used her paints!
I love her artistic way of using paints to create a background and so gave it a go. I added lots of water to the paint and after the initial (fairly random) placing of the paint on the card - let the water do the work and left it alone (a hard thing for me!). There were a couple of yuk's but I quite liked this one.
I added some complimentary coloured stencilling and stamping.

This is my latest creation for Country View Crafts 'Travel' themed challenge.

Inspired by Seth Apter and Frankie gets bored

Seth Apter style journal page - Addicted to Art
I was lucky to attend one of Seth Apter's UK workshops recently and we did lot's of layering techniques with PaperArtsy Fresco acrylics and used some of his stamps, dies and stencils.

I decided to try a Seth inspired page in my journal - actually a double page. The word stamps and stencilled circles are from his range. I used a load of PaperArtsy Fresco paints including two from the new Seth Apter range - Buff and Terracotta.

As some people know my blog url was created a long time before I actually started blogging - when my cat 'Frankie' really did eat worms - I think she has grown out of it. So I think I might rename it Frankie Gets Bored (while I am crafting) and resorts to stealing my craft room chair so I have to work standing up. Here she is while I was doing this page...

Back tomorrow with another Guest Design project for That's Crafty!

Taking the scenic route

Hello and welcome September - my favourite month, I love late summer, early autumn here in the UK . Hopefully the weather is good today - as I write this in advance - I realise that on the 1st September I will be at a friend's wedding.

And it's a busy day here at Addicted to Art too - if you missed my first post of the day - I am September's guest designer at That's Crafty - you can find it here.

Being the 1st of the month we introduce a new challenge at Country View Crafts - the theme being Travel.

My card originated as a journal page with texture paste and finger painting with paper artsy fresco paints - followed my some stamping. I took some of the page and stamped the greeting and bird and cut them out. I added some chevrons to embellish and a little doodling with my white pen.
