PaperArtsy - New stamps by Sara Naumann

It's that time of year when we see lots of new releases - so exciting to see all the new designs and products on the market.
I am over at PaperArtsy tonight with some samples I made for the new release by Sara Naumann - 3 stamp set and 3 stencils.
Lots of photos of my samples on the PaperArtsy blog and also a link to Sara's own designs earlier this evening.

One stamp - 2 colours

Tim Holtz Flourish stamp and Distress Oxides and Inks - Nikki Acton
Hello!
I am very pleased to be joining the Craft Stamper Take it Make it challenge Design Team for 2018! Our January challenge launches today and as usual it is Anything Goes with Stamping.

I decided to have a play with Distress Oxides / Inks and one of Tim Holtz's large background stamps. I am planning on using more colour in 2018 so I went quite bright - just using Wilted Violet and Twisted Citron.
I made a few panels to start off - varying how I inked the background and whether I inked or stamped first - just to get some subtle variations. Lots left over after the 2 cards I have made so far!

For one I added an Alison Bomber quote:

And the other a birthday sentiment - as I need a card early January!

Altered Box for A Vintage Journey

Altered Box - Nikki Acton
Hello - we start a new challenge today at A Vintage Journey. Our host is Deb and she is asking us to 'Think Inside or Outside the Box'. Here is her description:
For our first challenge of 2018 we'd like you to create with a box. Any box of any size will do, it can be one you have made yourself or one that you are recycling or even one that you have drawn. We'd like you to make your project either inside the box itself or do something imaginative on the outside or both if that's where your muse takes you.

I began with a small box that once contained some chocolates - it is about 2.5 x 3.5 x 2 inches. I gave it all a coat of black paints and sealed...

I took a sheet of A4 card and just played! Scraping paint with a credit card, a little brayering and finally some stencilling:
Before I added anymore detail I cut my card to size to fit the box and then added some additional stencilling and stamping onto each piece.
I adhered each section to the box and sealed again with matt medium. I finished with a star I painted in the same colours and added an embellishment.
Thanks for visiting, see you soon.

It's been a while.... Happy New Year!

Canvas board with Seth Apter Drip Drop die and textured surface.
It has been a while since I posted on my poor neglected blog - but hoping 2018 allows a little more time and focus.
Today I am over at A Vintage Journey with a step by step for our current Destination Inspiration.

I am also happy to say I have joined the Craft Stamper Take it Make it challenge design team for 2018 so I will be back later in the week with my first project.

Whatever your dreams and plans I wish everyone a successful and happy 2018.
